The only German aircraft carrier "Graf Zeppelin" was planned from 1935, built in Kiel and launched on December 8, 1938 and was about 90% completed. The bearer got its name after Ferdinand von Zeppelin. The Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter aircraft, the Ju 87 Stuka bomber and the Fieseler Fi 167 multi-purpose carrier aircraft were planned as carrier aircraft.
