November 1939. Stalin orders the attack on Finland, 500,000 Soviet soldiers march on the border. For small Finland begins the fight against an overpowering enemy. The brothers Martti and Paavo from Österbotten join the infantry regiment JR23, which is assigned to Karelia. At minus 40 degrees they experience the hell of the winter war in the lossy battle of Taipale. The Finns can only resist Russian tanks and planes with their simple weapons and homemade Molotov cocktails. Many of Martti's comrades find an icy death, the remaining men are transferred to the Mannerheim line. This is to be kept at all costs, because when the Mannerheim line falls, falls all over Finland ...
