Maschinengewehre 1939 - 1945: Entwicklung - Typen - Technik - Gebundenes Buch
Based on the first real machine gun, the American-British Maxim, Germany used the self-developed, water-cooled MG 08 or 08/15 during the First World War. During the Second World War, the MG 34 lifted the distinction between light and heavy machine guns. The air-cooled MG 42 eliminated some serious disadvantages of its predecessor and was used because of its maturity under a new name even after the war. Alexander Losert describes all important machine guns from German production, which were developed and used until the end of the Second World War.
