Generalmajor Otto Ernst Remer - Kommandeur der Führer-Begleit-Division - Book(Nur noch wenige da)

Major General Otto Ernst Remer

Commander of the "Division Großdeutschland"

Beginning with the carefree days of his childhood and adolescence, his first commitment to the Fatherland in the Jungsturm and his time as a soldier in the Reichswehr and in the Wehrmacht, this text illustrated book impressively retraces the life of Major General Otto Ernst Remer. He was one of the youngest generals of the Wehrmacht at the age of 32 and was awarded during his military career, among others, with the EK I and II class, the Knight's Cross with oak leaves, the German Cross in gold and the mens brace in silver. He never demanded anything from his men, which he would not have been willing to do himself, and he always confidently spread confidence in the worst of the crisis situations. At length, Tegethoff devotes himself to Remer's deployment as a battalion commander of the Greater Germany Division. As such, Remer subjugated in Berlin the coup attempt of July 20, 1944 against Hitler without bloodshed. His experiences as combat commander of the Fiihrer headquarters Wolfschanze and as a division commander of the Panzer-Führer-escort division are described comprehensively. Beyond the Second World War, Remer's work for the Socialist Reich Party (SRP) was dealt with, as it represented a significant milestone in his work. In addition to many eyewitness accounts, the extensive image and document part of an objective opinion. Wherever possible, the frontline soldier has the opportunity to give readers the opportunity to form their own opinion of Otto Ernst Remer and the time without prejudice. With his death in Spanish exile on October 4, 1997 closes the circle of life of a soldier in war and peace. Until his death, Remer followed "the command of conscience," which did not allow him to fight until his last breath for Germany. The book commemorates this man of honor, chivalry and energy.
