Division of the Panzer Regiment 4 (Panther department "Forester") was in the theater of war Italy the only equipped with the main battle tank "Panther" German tank department. She fought, among others, at the bridgehead of Anzio-Nettuno, at the last Cassino battle in the Liri Valley, at the defensive battles on Lake Trasimeno and at the Arno, at the defensive battle on the Adriatic, as well as at Via Emilia. This book tells in detail the history of the Panther department "Förster" from the formation and training in Austria and France in 1943 until the end of the war in Italy. Numerous (partly unpublished) photos, reports of former relatives, documents, situation maps, sketches and lists (staffing, carrier of the iron cross, tank deliveries, position reports, tank losses, shooting successes etc.) complete the book. It also contains the detailed memoirs of department commander Major Förster, written shortly after the war.
