From January to May 1935, the 7th company was formed in the association of the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler. The period of peace ended on August 25, 1939 with the deployment into the field. After the Polish and French campaigns, the 7th company was renamed the 8th company in July 1940. From the summer of 1941, the Leibstandarte, and with it the 8th Company, pushed through Galicia and the Ukraine to Rostov-on-Don. This was followed by defensive battles on the Mius in 1941/42, refresher campaigns in France in 1942, combat in the Ukraine in 1942/43 with the recapture of Kharkov and in the summer of 1943 participation in Operation Zitadelle against Kursk. After tough defensive battles in the Ukraine in 1943, the company was moved west. Here, in May 1944, the 8th was renamed the 7th Company. Pushed back to the Reich border after heavy fighting against the Western Allies who had landed in 1944, the Ardennes offensive in the west followed in 1944 and in 1945 the spring operation to regain Budapest in Hungary. The association finally capitulated to the Americans. The richly illustrated company chronicle was compiled from memories and diaries of their former members. The appendix contains information on regiment size and organization, company commanders and battle maps.
