Uniformabzeichen der Waffen-SS Gebundenes Buch
How varied the front-lines of the "order under the skull" were shows a look at their uniform-specific badges. The author documents them on the basis of approximately 300 colored illustrations, usually in original size or larger: the various collar patches, shoulder pieces, sleeve stripes and eagle as well as national arm shields. They show that the Waffen-SS - beginning as a purely German SS-disposal force - developed in the course of the war into a multinational federation, in which not only members of almost all European peoples did service, but also Indians, Georgians, Azerbaidzhanians, Armenians and Tatars. The diversity of the names of the individual divisions is also clear, they are called u.a. Charlemagne, Langemarck, Wallonia, Hunyadi, Skanderbeg and Handschar. Badges and photos are supplemented by explanatory texts. The introduction gives a concise overview of the badge system of the Armed SS.
