of the News Company - Hardcover Book The division news company z.b.V. Africa was set up and equipped in Regensburg between mid-July and mid-August 1941. From the autumn of 1941, the company moved to Africa. The last relatives arrived in May 1942 at the command post of the 90th light African Division, with which the division news company, later division news division participated in the battles in Africa. Alois Schirmer, himself a member of this department, has collected in this work own reports, the memories of his comrades and the last commander of the department, Philipp Franz Prince of Salm-Horstmar, and thus presents a unique witness of the war in Africa. The contributions report on the training in the news company, the time in Naples, the dangerous way from there to Libya, the many plagues, hardships and changeable struggles in the desert to the last days before the surrender and the path to captivity. In addition to the authentic experience reports, the work is supplemented by many previously unpublished image documents, which were taken from the establishment of the department until its demise in Tunisia.
